Reggae Hut

Colorful, modern spot serving a mix of Caribbean dishes, such as meat-filled patties & jerk chicken.

ABOUT

In 2005, Reggae Hut, a longstanding staple in Houston’s Third Ward community, was acquired and renovated. The Reggae Hut served a tempting amalgamation of Caribbean cuisines for more than nine years before operational challenges almost forced it to close its doors. The restaurant was a considerable inspiration to Davis during The Breakfast Klub’s formative stages. More importantly, Davis’ firm belief in the year-round practice of the fourth guiding principle of Kwanzaa – Ujamaa (cooperative economics) motivated him to

reinvest the financial rewards realized by The Breakfast Klub in the preservation of this cultural icon. With widespread community support, and to the delight of its many loyal patrons, tbk holdings, Inc. unveiled the Reggae Hut Cafe’s new contemporary urban motif featuring mural work by local artist Tierney Malone in January 2006.
