ABOUT
Myrtle Zachary Jackson started Not Jus’ Donuts Bakery along with her daughters in 2000 as a single unit retail bakery located in the historic Third Ward area. Ms. Myrtle was committed to providing high quality baked goods for all occasions including wedding cakes and the like. Coming from a family of great bakers and cooks baking was in her DNA. Myrtle developed a passion for creating heavenly desserts. Many of her desserts are made from old family recipes that have been passed down with some are nearly 180 years old. Myrtle was inspired to start this business after she buried her father who didn’t leave her any type of a legacy or inheritance, she decided then that she would be the last Zachary in her family to not leave a legacy behind for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and so on. Myrtle’s desire to open a bakery was to share with the world the sweet goodness she grew upon and to build a legacy.
