How to Create a Listing Guide

So you've discovered BLK Directory and you would like to create a listing as a black business owner. No worries because we have you covered. Continue reading below for instructions.

Download the app + create a listing

If you haven't downloaded our app yet, please visit your app store and search BLK Directory. Download the app and create an account. Once you create an account and complete the verification process, visit the menu and select Create Listing.

Once you're approved

After you submit your listing, our team will begin to review your request. We conduct an internet search to prove the authenticity and legitimacy of the business. We will reach out if we have follow up questions.

When you're approved, you will be sent an approval email. This email contains two very important details:

  • Login link that will take you to the admin portal. This is where you'll be able to customize your listing.

  • Temporary preset passcode

Familiarize yourself with the dashboard

After you click on the Login link that was included in the email, it will take you the SubAdmin login page. Use the email address that you included in your listing request and the preset password that was listed in the email.

*You may want to bookmark this login page so that you can find it more easily in the future.

Edit your listing 101

  • From the main dashboard page, click on your listing. Next click on the 3 dots under Actions and select Edit.

  • From here you'll be able to edit your listing name, category, location, social media/web link, photos, etc.

  • Once you are done completing your listing, click Submit.

Note: You can always customize your listing but please keep in mind that your listing is public. It is recommended to add photos and basic information about your listing as soon as possible.

Other features

The dashboard will also give SubAdmins the ability to edit their profile, change their password, and view/respond to direct messages from users on the app.

From the main dashboard page, click on the 3 dots in the top right corner. You'll then be shown a menu. To edit your profile select My Profile. To change your password, select Change Password.

To view messages, click on the menu on the left side of the dashboard, and select Messages. From this view you can view and respond to any message that you receive from users.
